Sucharita Varma

Sucharita has worked in the social services sector for the past 11 years and has established Sahaayta counselling and social support in Counties Manukau in 2013.

She comes from a counselling background and is responsible for creating the model and providing oversight for the service delivery for Gandhi Nivas Programme which operates across three locations in Tamaki Makaurau, Auckland.

Sucharita comes from Hyderabad in Southern India and has migrated to New Zealand in 2001.

Sucharita is passionate about working with families, especially from migrant and refugee background. She is particularly interested in family counselling where she uses a holistic approach in her work with her clients.

Counselling Services

Our team of qualified counsellors help explore your concerns and support you to develop more fulfilling and resourceful ways to enhance your life.
Counsellors use techniques and strategies to assist clients reach their own solutions. Most Counsellors work with clients on a specific issue for a designated period of time and some for a longer duration, with a view to fostering the client’s well-being and supporting them through life transitions.
Our team is diverse and we offer services in 15 languages English, Hindi, Fiji-Hindi, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Punjabi, Somali, Arabic, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Tulu, Afrikaans, Urdu.
We provide services to individuals, couples, families, children, youth and seniors with matters related to

Counselling Fee: Our qualified team provides services for anyone who needs it with utmost integrity. Contributions from our clients are necessary for continuity of our service. Some charges may apply. We can assist you with WINZ counselling subsidy if you are eligible. Please discuss possible payment options/donation options with your counsellor.

We network with and provide information on appropriate community organisations in an effort to assist you with accessing these services:

Legal services, budgeting services, food parcels and specialist services (addiction services, mental health support service, sexual violence services etc).
